What would be the greatest way to treat myself after a tiring or bad day from work? FOOD!!!! Of all the things in this world, food remains to be one of the many ways to keep me happy and hold the strand of my sanity.

Food prepared by my one and only mother is one of the best things I love about my life. When it is prepared by Nanay (mother), it is surely tasty, healthy and served with lots of love, love, love (Ewww, cheesiness :)

One of my all time favorite snacks is Potato Chips. I love those that are sold in huge bags in supermarkets, like Ruffles and Lays, but I better appreciate my Nanay's natural and homemade version.

My Nanay knew that I was a huge junk food addict. My trip to the supermarket would always mean taking home bags of my favorite local and imported potato chips. In order to at least prevent my excessive junk intake, she would regularly prepare this Homemade Potato Chips.

Making Homemade Potato Chips is easy peasy. All you need are fresh potatoes and cooking oil. Peel and slice the potatoes the thinnest way you can. If you have those magic slicers shown in Home TV Shopping, the task will be much easier. My Nanay however has this talent of perfectly slicing the potatoes by just using a typical kitchen knife. I don't claim expertise in cooking but I believe that the manner you slice your potatoes will influence the quality of your potato chips. Thicker slices might ruin your chips and turn  them mojo slices instead.

All you have to do is to deep fry the sliced potatoes. Since, the process involves frying, expect the tons of oil and fat to each chip. In our case, my Nanay places the chips on a paper towel to remove the excess oil.

For the dip, I prefer French Onion Dip, Honey Mustard or worst case, settle for Heinz's Tomato Ketchup. Some would prefer to add artifical flavorings such as powdered cheese and barbecue. But for me, I am already happy with the plain and fresh chips.
