inspirations
Before I finally kick off to my second job, my freelance work at home, allow me to share another inspiring video clip. I attended a half-day seminar on customer management today and the facilitator shared us a story that touched the heart of the rank and file employee in me.

Once in a while, I hear unsolicited feedback about the inefficiency and inability of our department to contribute something tremendous for the company. There were also instances that I tend to lose interest at work because I develop this feeling that my presence and absence both meant nothing for the company. Everything changed after I learned Johnny's life. The story melted the heart of the rank and file employee in me.

How I wish every employee will be like Johnny.

Talking about being dedicated to work, I changed my mind. I really feel so sleepy now. I will forgo my work and instead wake up early tomorrow to finish everything.

P.S. Please join my Beautiful Sunday link up post party. I will be opening the link up tomorrow night.

I dedicate this post to my blog friends who are mothers.

Not all of us are mothers, but we are all sons and daughters of our respective mothers. I have learned that over time, mothers are the key in discovering the weakness of any person. Talk about mothers, even the toughest guy in the room will cry. Whether you are a son or a daughter, you have a mother who never fails to melt your heart.

My friend shared this video clip through Facebook and I believe this deserves to be shared to everyone.

Hats off to all the mothers in the world!

I discovered this short film from a fellow blogger. I know I just posted another video clip in my previous post. But I feel that this film deserves to be shared.

The film received the People's Choice Award in the recent Manhattan International Film Festival. With or without the award, this film owns my respect. If it is not too much to ask, please spare 5 minutes of your time for this great piece of work.

I would love to hear your thoughts too.

What is the taste of true love?

After the long weekend break, I was very eager to start the week. I felt refreshed, optimistic and ready to accomplish everything. I started my office routine after my early morning class. I listed the tasks that needs to be done and checked my email. And that's it! In a snap, my entire day was ruined by a letter of rejection.

My positive outlook is gone.

Having my desktop computer and internet connection, I tried to divert my attention to other meaningful thoughts. Someone out there perhaps led me to this inspiring video clip

F is for FAIL from Brent Barson on Vimeo.

I hope the disheartening email only serves as a sign that I should consider another try, another hope to build another redeeming chapter of my life

I've been suffering from colds for almost a week. This weekend I woke up with a slight fever again. The rain and infectious colds have prevented me to accomplish a lot of things. I can't meet Anna and Anne, can't attend to my errands and more importantly, I can't fulfill my regular weekend jogging. I stayed home the entire day and lounged in bed for a movie marathon. One of the movies I've watched was the movie adaptation of Jodi Picoult's My Sister's Keeper.

It was a sad movie that dealt with a family’s journey about cancer and death. I won’t relate much of the film but the entire story circulated on the pain and agony of having a family member stricken with cancer. The film was able to give life to the novel. But as always, there were inconsistencies with some of the details in the novel. In particular, the movie diverted much from the story's original ending .

Death is a topic I am not comfortable to discuss. As much as possible, I avoid engaging in conversations about this harsh and sad reality of life.  I know we will all end there. It’s just the matter of time that becomes the issue.

Later that evening, I found a video that gave me a better view of death

Before and more than death, I should remember that I have a LIFE...

Before death, I have a LIFE

Thank God the weather is getting better here in Manila. The strong winds and incessant rain fall are over. To my blog friends who extended their warm wishes in my previous post, THANK YOU VERY MUCH!  These are things I never expected when I started blogging.

The storm is over and life goes on. I think this means something else to me. Perhaps, that deserves another dramatic blog post. ;-) To lighten up things, allow me to share some videos that made me smile over the past stressful days.

First and foremost, I wasn't paid by Google to do this post. How I wish! It was Anji, a batchmate back in High School and a new found blog friend, who first posted this video in her inspiring blog. For some reason I enjoyed and loved most of the TV ads produced by Google. They aren't shown in the Philippines but friends residing abroad made me discover these simple yet heart warming ads.

What I love about Google's ads are the simplicity and true to life situations depicted. These ads have also proven that companies don't have to venture to expensive celebrities to convey effective and lasting messages.

Among the ads produced by Google, this one is what I loved the most

I already posted this video for my father's birthday and though I have watched it several times, this never fails to melt my heart.

Something inspiring

I thought it was an ordinary workday today. I did my regular blog tours before starting all the paper works in the office. The last blog I checked was A Daily Cup of Mrs. Olson. I read her post and found out that I was awarded with this badge,

Have a great day!

P.S. All the pictures used in this post are not owned by the author. Pictures were taken from the site of the respective bloggers.

One of my Facebook contacts posted this video

I believe no one would ever attempt to say that letting go is easy. Regardless of age, gender and status in life, letting go and moving on will never be an effortless and painless task. Letting go entails sacrifice and I'm sure each one of us have our own agonizing to inspirational stories to relate.

Ava depicted to me an innocent image of conquering the pain of leaving things behind. At an early age of three, she showed sacrifice and the willingness to move on. I was about to share some of my letting go and moving on experiences not until I saw this related video

The courageous kid I admired moved on to experience the loving arms of our creator. Her mother, Sheye Meyer, made this site as a tribute to the short but very meaningful life she had.

Thank you Ava. I believe God wanted me to see your video to relay an important message. May your life continue to inspire and remind us that everyone is capable of conquering his own battle in life.

Do you recognize these flowers?

These are my favorite Cherry Blossoms. I love Cherry Blossoms but I never had the chance to see and feel them.  I obtained these pictures from the Internet, but not from Yahoo or Google images. These pictures were captured by my cousin who resides in the land of the rising sun, the country whom I believe would surpass everything; Japan.

My cousin who gave me the permission to post these pictures is my Ate (sister) May. (In the Philippines, we also call our elder females as sister or "Ate" as a way of showing respect.)  Ate May is one of my paternal cousins. We became cousins because our grandmothers (mothers of our fathers) are siblings. I have plenty of cousins from my paternal family. I consider it as a blessing but honestly, this situation sometimes brings disadvantages. I don't have the chance to personally know all of my cousins. My quiet personality even contributes to my failure to reach out to all of them. As a result, I know some of our relatives have misjudged me as weird, snobbish and "different."

Ate May is one of my few relatives who have gained my respect and admiration. You see, I am a firm believer that respect is earned and not imposed. Otherwise, it isn't respect. I have high respect for Ate May because she persevered in life. She did not take advantage of anyone to reach her place. More importantly, I never heard her criticize other people's faults and misfortunes in life. Her silent personality can never be equated by a conceited, dominating and useless.. whatever ;-)

A little confession to make, Ate May and I never had the chance to have those intimate talk or closeness before she left the country. But believe it or not, it only took an hour of Yahoo Messenger chat for me to realize that I have a friend, cousin and sister in her. Our chat came so perfect because for some reasons, I feel so sad and depressed at that time. Quarter life crisis perhaps. Thank you Ate May. You just don't know how much I needed that. You saved me.

Ate May’s good heart and humility gave her the best life she deserves. Ate May is now a fulfilled wife and a mother to a charming little boy.

Meet God’s greatest and cutest gift to Ate May

Dear Ate May,

Becoming a mother is one of the greatest achievements a woman could ever have. God chose you to become the mother of Kenji because He knows you are perfect for him. I pray that God will keep your family safe and complete. May you have more wedding anniversaries and I wish that Kenji grows equally happy and fulfilled.

Like the Cherry Blossoms, I know you will bloom and flourish as a mother, wife, daughter, and a woman for others. Enjoy motherhood and thank you for coming in my life.

I recently blogged about my two day spiritual break at Caleruega. The place is just so peaceful and relaxing.

Aside from savoring God's gift of nature, I also enjoyed the company of my few workplace friends and some of the activities we experienced. Please allow me to share to you some of them.

This film was shown to us in one of our sessions. Everyone almost went speechless after watching the film. Seflessness, giving up the only reason that makes you happy, in exchange for saving the lives of those strangers, is no doubt a supreme sacrifice.

I am not a fan of Steven Curtis Chapman. But this song made me admire him. We all have our own perceptions of heaven. Little do we know,  heaven can be experienced on those little things on earth. They just wait for us to realize and appreciate them.

We also did this activity.

I hope you can see the green tangled yarn. I can't recall the exact name of this activity. For now, allow me to call it the Friendship Web. This exercise is perfect for retreats and even team-building activities.

So how does the Friendship Web works?

A group of around 10 members forms a circle and is given a ball of string. The activity starts when the ball of string is given by the facilitator to one member. The first member should tie the string to his index finger and pass it to another member. However, the passing of the string is accompanied by a task. Words of appreciation should be uttered to the member who receives string. The procedure is repeated until the entire ball of string is used up.

I love activities like this because it provides an opportunity for everyone to feel appreciated. It gives those rare chance of feeling great and special.

Speaking of great people around me, I would like to share some of my pictures with my few workplace friends. They are the few people who made my work life lighter and happier

I forgot to thank God for giving these people to me. I literally grew up from being an innocent fresh-college-graduate employee to a big and overweight girl in the workplace. :D

Wishing everyone a great day ahead! :)
